Like any voluntary group we are always in need of as much help as we can get! However, we recognise that people have very varying amounts of time and energy to offer and would much prefer for you to give just a small amount rather than feel compelled to make a commitment that puts you under any sort of undue pressure.  Even one hour of your time would be a very valuable and welcome offer.

Here's a list of just some of the ways you might get involved, whether on a short or long term basis:
  • Suggest, organise or help with fundraising activities
  • Provide or arrange publicity for the link on TV, radio or in print
  • Offer Russian translation (Russian speakers only!)
  • Host a child for any period of their stay (see Hosting), or be a support family to give a host family a break
  • Donate or organise donation of practical gifts, clothes or toys for the children - we aim to kit out all the children with clothes during a visit, so any good quality clothes for ages 8-12 would be very welcome
  • Arrange or provide transport for the group of children
  • Drive the bus for a day (or more) during the visit
  • Donate or arrange for a raffle prize to help raise funds
  • Provide, arrange or help out with a days activities, for example sports, educational visits (e.g. the aquarium),  boating, riding, art, craft, music...
  • Offer your services as a doctor, dentist or optician for basic medical checks
  • help out with admin - make some calls, write some letters, send the odd email...

Any offers of help will be welcomed and appreciated.  Please explore our 'How you can help' links on the left for more ideas.
