Actuality is a Theatre Company made up of third year Drama and Performance, and English and Drama students from the University of Portsmouth. As a company, and as part of our degree, they want to take new, unestablished writers and supply them with an opportunity to work with a professional Theatre Company. They give the chance to workshop ideas with an artistic/creative director and a resident writer to enhance their skills as a writer, but also then to see their scripts come to life. They are mainly are interested in working with writers who concentrate on ideas of reality, looking at their experiences to put into their work. We feel this is the best way to work as the writers will a gain a connection to the piece.

Each member of our team has experience in production, direction, performance and management and can provide advice when needed.

As a company they are interested in producing juke Box musicals based around the stimulus of reality. Working within particular communities for each project, we provide the writer with an opportunity to workshop ideas on character and stimulus, with a professional theatre company and see their scripts come to life. As final year Drama and Performance and English and Drama Students 'Let Me Be Your Star' is their concluding project within the academic year.
