Children’s Visit 2012
The visit of next years children is confirmed and they will be arriving on Wednesday 6th June 2012
This is all about making a difference to the lives of these the Children!

We are part of a national charity founded in 1992 by Victor Mizzi M.B.E. Since then over 160 "Links" have been established throughout the United Kingdom, raising money to support the children of Belarus and Ukraine, whose lives will be forever affected by the aftermath of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1986.
The Portsmouth & Hayling Island Link is lead by our Chair Person Marian Stapley, who is supported by host and buddy families, committee, friends and supporters.
We arrange for the visiting children to have a four week recuperative break, away from contaminated food, water and air that boosts their immune systems to make a real difference to their health and well being.
This years Children arrived from Belarus on 1st June

The children have a wonderful time with their host families, and the Link, and have many days out. They are fortunate enough to visit the Dentist and the Optician whilst they are here also, to receive any treatment that they need.
We are certain the children do take home so many happy and fond memories from the visit. Also, they are given nutritional food and drinks whilst they were here, which enhances their lives.
Our fund raising continues towards next years visit of Children from Belarus during June 2012, we will provide updates on our events and activities as the year continues.
This is all about the Children and making a difference!
The following are a couple of thoughts that these children have to deal with each and every day.
Imagine: Living the rest of your life in a radioactive polluted environment. There is no escape. Money cannot buy protection.
Imagine: Eating food that may harm you, but what else can you do?
Imagine: Coming to the UK and eating fresh food and breathing fresh air and going home with your imune system recharged.
Imagine: Knowing that there are people that DO care.
