The fundraising event was in aid of Chernobyl Children Lifeline: Caernarfon Link in order to bring children affected by the Russian nuclear disaster over to the region for holidays.

Football teams from Glan Gwna Holiday Park took on youth teams from from Segontium including two under-nines teams, under-11s, under-13s and under-15s.

Even though money is still being collected, it is believed around £400 was raised by the event.

Terry McDaid of the link said: "We are very happy with the response and appreciate the support shown because the money we raised will be going to help children who need it most

"Everyone had a really good time and over 100 kids took part so it forged links between the holdiday park and Caernarfon, and the children made a lot of friends too.

"Even though 'Wales' won 4-1 in total everyone came out winners, especially the kids from Chernobyl who will be coming over soon."
