Welcome to the Blackpool Link’s web site for the Chernobyl Children’s Life Line. Since Victor Mizzi M.B.E. founded the charity in 1992 over 150 "Links" have been established throughout the United Kingdom, raising money to support the children of Belarus and Ukraine, whose lives will be forever affected by the aftermath of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1986.

Since 2005, our link has hosted 10 children each year, taking them on day trips, camping - and a visit to the dentist!

For the children it is like something out of a fairy tale yet at the same time rather daunting.  This may be the first time they have left their parents let alone been abroad.  What lies ahead for them? What will their host parents be like?  Will they miss their family?

We are always eager to see the new arrivals.  Here, at Manchester Airport, is the first glimpse we had of the Belarusian children who stayed with us in the summer of 2006
